A little planning goes a long way
Scale matters for decorative pieces, too
Compare the piece with the shelf height, nearby books or sideboard width. On a narrow surface, base depth and stability matter just as much as the view from the front.
A gentle glow is not always task lighting
Soft light through resin can set a mood, but reading or working calls for different performance. Tell us the purpose at the outset so we can assess whether the proposed piece meets your needs.
What to agree for a working light
Position, controls, power supply and component availability must be agreed before production. Specifications, serviceability and suitability for the setting are assessed for the chosen design. An indoor photograph does not establish suitability for outdoor use.

Good to know before you enquire
Can I order a decorative piece without lighting?
Yes. We design a non-electrical object as a piece in its own right, with its own shape, base and finish.
Will the light be suitable for reading?
That depends on the design. Ambient accents and task lighting have different requirements.
Can you use my preferred colours?
We agree a colour direction from your reference. The precise result is influenced by the timber, resin and lighting in the room.
Can the piece be used outdoors?
Outdoor use needs a separate assessment. For a light, this includes the suitability of its electrical parts for the environment.
Can you add a personal inscription?
We can propose a position for wording or a logo based on the surface and size of the piece.

Lighting and decorative pieces: light, materials and use
A decorative piece needs to work at the scale of its space. A light also calls for careful positioning of the light source and a safe technical design.
Atmosphere and scale
A table lamp, candle holder and wall decoration each play a different role. Position, viewing angles and surrounding furniture help determine the proportions.
Materials in the light
Timber brings warm natural grain, while resin can play with colour and light transmission. We choose the visual effect alongside the way the piece will be lit.
Designing for use
For a light, the light source and power options need to be understood early on. We check the feasibility of technical details before preparing a quotation.
A decorative object and a working light need different briefs
In our Bratislava workshop, we first ask whether the piece should set a mood or actually illuminate a surface. For a working light, we need its position, power supply and proposed light source, then assess the technical design individually. For a decorative object, scale, viewing angles and secure positioning may take priority.
